Appoints Karl Pessinis as Chief Operating Officer; Promotes Tony Carter to Vice President of Engineering

Westford, Massachusetts, January 5, 2022 – MedAcuity Software, the go-to U.S.-based software development partner for leading MedTech companies, today announced the appointment of new Chief Operating Officer Karl Pessinis and the promotion of Tony Carter to vice president of engineering. MedAcuity’s continued commitment to the development of its staff—especially its engineering team—allows the company to provide carefully curated teams of highly skilled and experienced software engineers whose expertise best aligns with the unique needs of each client project.

“After 14 successful years of business, we are building out MedAcuity’s organizational structure with a focus on achieving greater efficiency while ensuring we provide learning and development support to improve career opportunities for our dedicated team,” said Dennis Fuccione, president & co-founder of MedAcuity. “We’re thrilled to add a leader of Karl’s caliber as COO, and to give Tony a well-deserved promotion. Everything we do is driven by the needs of our clients and our desire to deliver high-quality, high-value services that help them achieve their business objectives.”

Karl brings a wealth of operational and leadership experience, having run two professional services organizations. He is highly skilled at driving growth and continuous improvement activities to foster quality-focused, client-centric operations that value the contributions of every team member. Most recently, Karl was managing director of All Covered (Konica Minolta Technology Services), responsible for New England. Karl has held several other technology services leadership roles and has provided management consulting to companies similar to MedAcuity. He is eager to help shape MedAcuity’s operating plan for 2022 and beyond, with an emphasis on advancing its role in an industry that’s so integral to human health and well-being.

Tony specializes in managing and leading full software development programs. He joined MedAcuity in 2017 as a program manager, and subsequently moved up to director of engineering. In his new role as vice president of engineering, Tony will be responsible for overseeing the company’s software and quality engineering teams. He has prioritized establishing a comprehensive learning and development culture that supports the ongoing education of the company’s technical staff; continuing excellence in how it delivers services and solutions to its clients; and supporting an evolving management structure to drive growth and scale to meet company objectives.

MedAcuity’s continued evolution and focus on team development is especially important given the rapid pace of change in the healthcare industry that demands advanced problem solving and technical skills to architect next generation software-intensive medical devices and systems of the highest quality, safety and reliability.
